MyCrossFit 6 Week Food Challenge

The nitty gritty:
We start the new year off with a new 6 week food challenge. This challenge starts on Monday 7th of Feb and ends Saturday 19th March. You'll be measuring your success over the next 6 weeks by using a system of points.
You will be judged on:
- Weight lost over the 6 weeks
- Points accumulated
- Goal met (you must choose a specific goal to complete at the gym within the 6 weeks of the challenge)
- Best before and after pic
Daily points & bonus points:
Every challenge participant will start each day on 7 points.
- Eat real food. Meat, eggs, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fruit, oils (like coconut or olive). Eat foods with very few ingredients, all pronounceable ingredients, or better yet, no ingredients listed at all because they’re fresh and natural
- No dairy. This includes butter, cheese, yogurt and milk
- No grains. This includes bread, rice, pasta, corn, oatmeal, and also any gluten-free pseudo-grains (quinoa, etc)
- No legumes. This includes beans of all kinds, lentils, and peanuts (no peanut butter)
- No sugar of any kind, real or artificial. No maple syrup, honey, Splenda, Stevia etc
- No processed foods. This includes protein shakes, processed “energy” bars etc
- No alcohol
So let’s say you follow points 1-7, but have a beer with your dinner. This means you get 6 points for that day. Subtract a point for the day if you have milk in your coffee. Eat toast or bread? Then subtract a point etc. If you have a beer, milk in your coffee and toast all in one day, you're down to 4 points for that day.

* Earn one bonus point per day that you get 8+ hours of sleep.
* Earn one bonus point per day (max of 4 per week) for every WOD you complete at MyCrossFit.
It’s not about looks:
This challenge is designed to reward those who stay dedicated to maintaining healthy eating, sleep and exercise habits over a 6 week period. Why 6 weeks? That is just enough time to give your body a "cleanse" from eating processed, unhealthy food. The concept is to provide your body with the optimal fuel that it was designed to run on.
Eating right is primarily about feeling your absolute best, mentally and physically. Looking better in your skin will just be a side effect :-)
Saying that, we do require all participants this year to provide a before and after photo (tops off). These will be used to help judge the winner and is also a great way to record your physical progress

The winner will be judged on the 4 categories mentioned above and will win:
- A 4 week, 4 times a week membership at MyCrossFit - Value $250
- MyCrossFit Hoody - Value $60
The 6 weeks will end with a lunch on Saturday the 19th of March for all gym members and their whanau at the Southern Cross Pub. So put it in your diaries and let me know if you can make it or not so I can book a big enough table.
Last year Janna lost 7kg's in the 6 weeks of the challenge and Kieran lost only 1 point! Lets see who can better that this year.
